When you purchased your home in the Ewa by Gentry Community Association you became a member of the Association. As a member, you agreed to follow the rules and guidelines established by our Declaration of Covenants Conditions and Restrictions (DCCRs), the Design Committee Rules, and our Community Living Guidelines.
The Covenants Department’s role is to ensure that everybody is doing their part by following those rules. In performing their jobs, Covenants Inspectors drive through the communities. When they notice areas of concern or violations to the rules, the staff work with the homeowners to resolve the issues. In most instances, initial contact with the homeowner is through a form letter. In the majority of the cases, the issue is quickly addressed once the homeowner becomes aware of the problem. In situations where the steps to resolve the matter are unclear or where the resolution is a complicated and time consuming process, the Inspectors and other department staff continue to work with the homeowners to bring the situation to closure.
The rules also state that changes or improvements to the exterior of your lot require written Design Committee approval. We do everything we can to make the application process as streamlined as possible. Most of the information you will need is available on our website.
